The DIA’s collection is among the top six in the United States, comprising a multicultural and multinational survey of human creativity from prehistory through the 21st century. The foundation was laid by William Valentiner, a scholar and art historian from Berlin, who was director from 1924 to 1945 . His extensive contacts in Europe, along with support from generous patrons, enabled him to acquire many important works that established the framework of today’s collections. Among the notable acquisitions during his tenure are Mexican artist Diego Rivera’s Detroit Industry fresco cycle, which Rivera considered his most successful work, and Vincent van Gogh’s Self Portrait, the first Van Gogh painting to enter a U.S. museum collections.

Polonia has been serving the Hamtramck area for over 40 years. Food is a key component to the Polish culture. We will enjoy mouth watering favorites like pierogis, golabki, city chicken, and Kilebasa, and other popular dishes. Polonia’s was featured on Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservation” back in 2007.

Itinerary:
9:30 AM – Bus Reports to Meijer Davison Lot H (Departs @ 10:00 AM)
11:30 AM to 12:45 PM – Polonia’s Restaurant
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM – DIA – John R Entrance
5:30 PM – Return to Davison

Reservation Information:
– Payment due upon sign-up.

– No refund may be given after October 30th unless a replacement is found.
– $4.00 per ticket cancellation fee (covers credit card fees)

BOOKING INFORMATION: (Please read)
1. Go to the ticket below and put down the number of attendees in your group.  Hit the + / – sign to add or subtract attendees.
2. The first Attendee is you if you are attending. (We Need your Name and Email Address if attending)*
3. Just put down the names of the other attendees and then check out.
4. At checkout enter your billing information and payment information and submit.
5. If you get an order number and it shows that you’ve made payment you are on the trip.
6. Check-in at the bus the day of the trip.  We will have your name on a list.
