SUMMARY:Thunder Bay Fall Color Tour
DESCRIPTION:Thunder Bay Fall Color Tour\nFeaturing:  Fall Colors\, Elk\, Gourmet Meal Wine Tasting\, and more…\nGet on the Interest List – – Scroll below to get on the list! \nJoin Davison Travelers as we head up north to Thunder Bay Resort for the most amazing Fall Color Tour on October 10th.  Our first stop takes us to  Our Lady of the Woods Shrine in Mio\, Michigan.  You will be greeted by the St. Mary’s Catholic Church parishioners.  You will have a few minutes to stretch\, grab a cookie\, and a cup of coffee\,  Afterwards\, take a short tour of the Shrine.  Built using over 25\,000 tons of Onaway stone\, the mountainous monument is honeycombed with shrines\, statues\, and grottos.  Nooks within the shrine represent different regions of Michigan\, including the Lower and Upper Peninsulas\, using authentic stone from those areas.  After that we’ll take a short 5 minute drive to The Farmer’s Creamery.  An Amish-owned cooperative operating five small family farms. The destination is renowned for its 100% grass-fed\, A2/A2 dairy products (which many find easier on the stomach) and amazing in-store baked goods.   Now enjoy the rest of the journey up to Thunder Bay Resort. \nNext\, Step back in time to life on the frontier. You begin by boarding a horse drawn carriage that will take you through the wooded resort and away from the daily hustle and bustle. A wooden bridge takes you over the Thunder Bay River and into the Elk Preserve. Here you will get an up close look at majestic bull elk. Bring your camera as you’ll have ample opportunity to snap some pictures. Enjoy the Fall scenery\, the smell of pine\, and the ever changing face of the Thunder Bay River as the horses make their way deep in the woods to the beautiful Elk Antler Log Cabin. A blazing fire in a massive split stone fireplace welcomes you. The riverside cabin is decorated in period antiques and trophy mounts. Wonderful aromas mix with the scent of hardwood smoke and emanate from two antique wood cook stoves in full view. This elegant cabin maintains its rustic appearance while providing every amenity. Warm yourself by the fire\, enjoy something from the bar and savor the delicious aromas put forth by the twin antique wood cook stoves as culinary prepare your five course gourmet meal. Throughout your meal you will sample six locally produced wines from the Sunrise Side and be entertained by storytelling from your hosts. \nSaturday\, October 10th\, 2026 \nPrice: $225.00 Per Person \nTrip Includes:\n– Deluxe motor coach transportation to Hillman\, MI\n– Escorted by John Henry of Route 23 Tours\n–  Horse drawn carriage through the Elk Preserve\n–  Elk viewing\, Fall Colors\, and Peak Elk Bugle season\n–  A 5 course gourmet meal and wine tasting\n–  Stop at Our Lady in the Woods Shrine for amazing pics!\n–  Stop at The Amish Farmer’s Creamery\n–  Stop at The Jerky Outlet on the way home \nTrip Itinerary:\n7:00 AM – Pick-up at Meijer Davison (Lot H)\n9:30 AM to 10:15 AM – Our Lady of the Woods Shrine\n10:20 AM to 10:50 AM – The Farmer’s Amish Creamery (cash only)\n11:30 AM to 4:00 PM – Thunder Bay Resort\n5:30 PM to 6:00 PM – The Jerky Outlet\n7:30 PM – Return to Meijer Davison \nTrip will go on sale on July 27th.  Make sure to get on the interest list so you don’t miss out! \nInterest List – Thunder Bay \nFirst Name *Last Name *Email *Number of Spots Requested *Checkboxes *Filling out this form does not guarantee spots on this trip.
